MARTT is heading to town

For the first time in many years, a car designed from scratch and manufactured outside of factory conditions has been released in Russia.

This is the result of the technical creativity of a group of engineers and designers united by the idea of creating new technology for auto racing. Over 25 years of work, the design bureau and the Art-Line racing team have given life to three generations of ArtTech racing "formulas" and sports prototypes that have successfully competed in Russia and Europe.

The car bears the features of the Moskvich M-400/401, the first mass-produced model of the Moscow Plant of Small Cars (the future AZLK).
As a sign of respect for the "four hundred and first", it was named MARTT, which means "Moskvich-ART-line Technology".

Since 2015, ART-Line Technology has been located where Moskvichs used to be born: in the AZLK assembly building. Today, this is the territory of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ on Volgogradsky Prospekt. And the car drove its first meters right here.

The car has passed all the necessary examinations and tests, was found suitable for use on public roads without restrictions, is registered with the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, has a Registration Certificate and state license plates.

The team and management of ART-Line Technology express their sincere gratitude to everyone who made the appearance of the MARTT car possible.

The MARTT is a two-seater "formula" built according to all the canons of auto racing, and covered with a lightweight body made of composite materials. The supporting structure is based on a carbon monocoque and a welded aluminum frame integrated into it, to which a safety cage is attached on top. The longitudinally located engine, clutch housing and gearbox are rigidly attached to the rear wall of the monocoque and are included in the overall power circuit, as in all "formulas".

The design work was carried out in a high-level automated design system using computational aerodynamics and finite element strength calculations.

Engines based on the VAZ-21126 with a volume of 1596 cm3 were prepared by the company's specialists. They are equipped with a dry sump lubrication system and an oil radiator. There are two versions of the car - road and track. The road version, according to the GOST requirements for environmental performance, is equipped with a serial engine with a standard intake tract, control unit, catalytic converter and on-board diagnostics system. In the track version, the engine has a reinforced connecting rod and piston group, a modified cylinder head and is equipped with a turbocharging system with an intercooler and a turbine cooling radiator, controlled by an Abit Corvette unit with original firmware.

The mechanical transmission consists of a dual-disc dry clutch and a 6-speed sequential gearbox with a limited-slip differential. The gearbox is controlled using steering wheel paddles.

Torsion suspension with complex kinematics is a "signature" feature of cars from ART-Line Technology. Double wishbones with push rods are a version of the suspension from the "formula" adapted for a road car. In addition to the wheel alignment angles, you can adjust the overall and angular rigidity, ground clearance, anti-roll bars, shock absorbers, dive and squat effects.

The body panels are not load-bearing. They are made of fiberglass and carbon fiber using vacuum infusion and contact molding methods on original tooling. All composite parts (and there are more than a hundred of them in the car) are made by the company's specialists.

The doors are of the "gull wing" type. The locks have electric and manual drives.

The cabin is equipped with domestic seats with RAF homologation and original upholstery. The seats and pedal bridge have longitudinal adjustment. The steering wheel is adjustable for reach and tilt angle and is equipped with a clutch for quick removal in case of emergency abandonment of the car.

The main instrument panel with a full-color screen, programmable, with a built-in data collection system. The steering wheel is equipped with gearshift paddles, an additional display, LED engine speed indicators (shift-light) and programmable buttons.

The main switches and the ERA-GLONASS system terminal are located on the center console panel. The overhead console contains ventilation and air flow distribution controls.

During 2024, MARTT underwent road tests on the ADM Raceway track in Myachkovo. In the fall, the car was presented to an accredited testing laboratory, where it passed all the necessary examinations and tests according to GOST 33670-2015, and received a "Certificate of safety of the vehicle design". Thus, the car was recognized as compliant with the requirements of the technical regulations of the Customs Union "On the safety of wheeled vehicles" (TR CU 018/2011) and suitable for use on the entire network of public roads without restrictions. After that, an electronic Vehicle Passport was issued, and the MARTT car was registered with the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, received a Vehicle Registration Certificate and state registration plates.

The car will give an unforgettable driving experience to both a professional athlete and a car enthusiast. The unique design and construction of MARTT make it unlike any other car, and its technical equipment and controls make you feel speed in a new way and experience completely new emotions.

The company conducted a series of tests of the car in the summer of 2024 on the track of the ADM Raceway autodrome near Moscow.
