AKMAT RACE 2021 Results

Akhmat Race is a grandiose sporting event named after the first President of the Chechen Republic, Hero of Russia Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov. The race took place on October 10 at the Groznaya Fortress track.

A few days before leaving for Grozny, our team faced an unpleasant problem that is well known to the whole world - the Covid-19 virus. Several team members fell ill at once and we lost the pleasure of seeing one of the crews as part of the race, namely Legends Evo M-401. So, only the Legends Evo VW car drove onto the track, piloted by Alexey Khairov and Sergey Chukanov.

They faced a tough struggle for leadership for 4 hours.
The race started very briskly. The first one got behind the wheel of Sergey Chukanov. The legend drove so fast that it remained in 7th overall for the first few laps, chasing the Touring class cars.

After completing the first 30 laps on the track, quite frequent pit lanes begin among the teams. This is quite logical, since cars start to require refueling.
After a couple of laps, many teams are already starting to face technical problems.

Lap 34: The Legend is in 10th overall, but something seems to be going wrong. The situation is heating up and Sergei Chukanov drives into the pit lane to check the car's serviceability and exchange with Alexei Khairov.

Here is the first urgent repair: a tooth broke on the drive gear of the intermediate reducer. The team gets to work, because this malfunction can aggravate the situation and lead to damage to the entire gearbox.

When the problem is solved, Alexey goes to the track and for the next 30 laps he tries to catch up with his rivals.

On lap 62, he shows the best time among cars of the Sport prototype class: 1: 21: 961

Half an hour before the end of the race, an annoying malfunction occurs: the forward gear is knocked out and the Legend stops when entering the pit lane. The third place is at stake, we must act quickly.

There are only 18 minutes left until the end of the race. The legend returns to the track again, and again Sergey Chukanov is driving. He, thanks to his skill, and leads the car to the finish line.

4 hours of race behind ...
The pilots and the crew are overwhelmed with emotions: worries and nervousness gave way to relief and joy. Everyone shares their impressions with each other.

The award ceremony, and now Sergei and Alexei receive their coveted prize.
