Results of the first long race of the season. Russian Cup, 1st stage (SMP RSKG Endurance).

Over the weekend, the 1st stage of the Russian Cup took place in Sochi, where our team took part in a long 3-hour race consisting of two ArtTech Evolution crews.

The weather was clear, with pleasant rays of sun, but quite cold air and, accordingly, the same cold asphalt. This caused certain difficulties with warming up the tires for many teams, including us.

However, the race was definitely a success: the main goal for this weekend was achieved, and we were pleased with the results of these “combat tests” in Sochi. It was in this format that this launch was planned - testing the endurance and operating time of the main components of the car.

It is important to note that the Evo cars differed not only in appearance, but also in the type of tires: the M-401 crew rode on slick tires, while the VW had semi-slick tires.

Of course, slick tires provide more grip and certain advantages. However, Alexey Khairov and Alexey Karachev (31) achieved great success on semi-slick tires, finishing in 11th position overall. The best lap time is 2:26.967. This is an excellent result in terms of the technical capabilities of the car and excellent aerobatics: there was only one car in Group F and GT class cars ahead.
