Historical race techniques on the start again!

On September 24 on Moscow Raceway the international open amateur championship on historical and classical cars "Moscow Classic Grand Prix" took place.

ArtLine's Technical director: the two-time champion of USSR (1986, 1991), the winner of the World Friendship Cup (1990), the two-time champion of Russia (1994, 1997), the world class master of sports Alexander Viktorovich Potekhin took part in races of historical formulas!

Two 15 laps drives passed on "Sprint" configuration route of 2,5 km long.
The team prepared "Estonia 20" car of 1985 release.

After qualification our formula started with the fourth position and in the first race didn't finish because of the water pump drive belt move over.
Having begun the second race from the last place, the driver have passed seven competitors during the very first lap and approached closely leaders. Through the half of a total distance the same breakage didn't allow the historical car to finish under a checkered flag again. Well, to the next championship mechanics have enough time to solve a problem and show this Soviet formula is capable.

11 cars with open wheels took part in the class Sport / Formula 1300 and 1600. It is pleasant that to other drivers with were ArtLine's athletes in different years showed a good result: Alexander Nesterov finished the third in the second race, and the absolute leader of both races Mikhail Aleshin with " Estonia 25-P" deserved a Champion cup!

Teams from different countries brought the cars to Moscow, one hundred athletes with really legendary names among them, met again on a track with rare examples of racing techniques. It was the nicest autosports festival and we appreciate the organizer - "Old Time" company. Atmosphere of the real win of sports and friendship will warm all those who had the luck to participate this year, and let's hope to meet again.
