We share our racing impressions and talk about the ArtTech Evolution car with team drivers Alexei Khairov and Georgy Kudryavtsev.

Last weekend at the Moscow Raceway was marked by a particularly interesting fight for the podium, especially in the second race on Sunday. Overtaking was made several times per lap, jewelry piloting and constant tension among the spectators - something like this can be described.

After the races and solemn pouring of champagne, we managed to talk a little with the pilots and get to know their impressions. Georgy Kudryavtsev, perhaps, deserves special attention. The young 17-year-old kart driver, who made his debut in sports prototypes this weekend, put in a superb performance with a third-place finish in the second race.

  • Georgy, tell us when and why did you decide to go with the Evo?

- Somewhere in the middle of summer, I realized that I want to move on and develop, try myself in new classes. My father and I have been watching the development of the Evo for a long time and chose it, because we like everything about these cars: how they sound, how they look, how they are controlled. In fact, this car is like a kart in terms of habits, so, in a sense, it was not so difficult for me to adapt to it.

  • What makes it different from a map? Have you experienced new sensations?

- Definitely yes. In the first run, I had to get used to the speed, to this new feeling. The Evo differs from the kart in that aerodynamics really work noticeably here, that the car behaves differently in different types of corners, and in some moments you need to catch its rear axle.

  • What can you say about the ArtLine Racing team? Do you have wishes for the future?

- I really liked the atmosphere in the team, it is really open and friendly. Yes, we are rivals on the track, but at the same time we have a great relationship in the pits. In my opinion, this series can only be wished for growth and development, so that there are more and more cars, and the struggle heats up more and more.

George really made a great debut, because in adult races he has to "face" with older, experienced pilots. For example, Aleksey Khairov, who carried out noticeable pressure on opponents in both races. It was he who became the second, after Artem Kabakov, beating George in the last laps. Aleksey has been performing in the Evo class since the very beginning, and he knows everything about these cars for sure.

  • Alexey, what are your impressions of the race weekend?

- There are more cars, and this year there is a tendency for new faces to appear in the team - this is a positive sign. It's been an interesting weekend. The heat on Saturday changed to not very pleasant cold weather, but in general it was interesting, especially the fight on Sunday.

  • That is, the fight is more interesting on dry land?

- Yes. On Saturday we stretched out, after all, the rain race is a lottery. On a dry track, it was a tight fight, in one lap we managed to change places several times. In fact, this is a common story for cars of the Evo class, and the more we are, the more interesting and spectacular the race becomes.

  • What do you think helped Artem Kabakov to get ahead and increase his advantage?

- George and I were a little behind him, because we fought with each other. Artem kept the pace well, but we still didn’t follow the optimal trajectories, which affected the speed.

Such an interesting weekend turned out at Moscow Raceway, now all that remains is to wait for the next stage of the RAF Cup, which will be held on Igora Drive on the first weekend of autumn, September 9-11.
